Katherine and Peter met as members of Remote Year’s second group (Battuta) in Montevideo, Uruguay, when our program started in February 2016.
With Remote Year, we traveled together to Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Croatia.
After a couple years of working remotely and traveling the world both with Remote Year and independently, Peter decided to write a book to help others get real, practical advice on becoming a digital nomad. And this guide truly reflects our lifestyle – it is the result of collaboration of digital nomads working together, remotely.
Peter started the project while living and working in Bali. He asked Katherine to coauthor it, pitching the idea over a Slack call from Bali to Kuala Lumpur. We collaborated via Slack and Google docs to write the book, meeting for an in-person session on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand.
