What is a Digital Nomad?
“Digital nomad” is not the only term (or always the most popular or preferred), but it is the current popular term for someone who works remotely while traveling or living away from home.
It quickly and accurately describes both our digital and nomadic lifestyle: our work relies on technology and internet access & we travel from place to place without a permanent home.
The Digital Nomad Census
During our research for writing The Digital Nomad Survival Guide, we conducted a survey to help quantify the demographics, spending habits, and locations of digital nomads.
The survey respondents are a diverse group of people: 31 different nationalities, new and experienced nomads alike, across a wide range of professions.
This infographic showcases the results from the survey:
– Demographics
– Citizenship / passport used for travel
– Current location our respondents are working from
– Remote work industry
– Employment status
– Average monthly income
– Estimated monthly spending
